Jackass 3D.
Not by the sweat-drinking or the upside-down projectile defecation.. No, that's just good, wholesome fun.
I'm disturbed because I found a lot of the movie tedious.
I don't say that lightly. Back in the day when my husband brought the first Jackass movie home on a rented DVD, I might have made a comment about how stupid he was for wasting his time on that kind of nonsense. (I was apparently in a position to judge because I spend all my spare time
Yet, when he put it in, I was immediately in love.
(That's what she said.)
From the moment I heard the opening music, I was glued to the television. I watched that DVD three times in succession and then promptly bought the DVD and the soundtrack -- which I still contend is one of the best movie sound tracks, ever.
I loved the second installment even more. Every stunt had a playfulness and hilarity about it that was ridiculous and funny and charming all at once. Especially if your idea of charming is someone who will put on underpants attached to a bungee cord and jump out of a tree.
I think I have just given you a lot of insight into the types of men I'm attracted to.
But this one? It seemed to be lacking the lighthearted fun that the first two movies had. It seemed more mean-spirited and well...kinda stale. Also? Not nearly enough music.
It definitely had its moments, but overall...just not the fun romp in the crocodile pit of Jackasses past.
Steve-O needs a drink,
Brutalism

If I want to watch Jackass I'll save 10 bucks and just look in my mirror.
It could have not been that bad. I have not seen the movie yet but heard a lot of great reviews on it. I love the boys of Jackass.
Moooooog - Fair point. Though for the full movie theater experience, you'd also need a sticky floor.
So, chances are, you got the full experience.
Penny - It definitely had its moments. Johnny Knoxville dancing on roller skates in a buffalo pen, for instance. That was genius. And the 3D was pretty cool. Still -- not as good as the first two.
Hi.
I am having a give-away today!
Ridicule and pranks are a cornerstone of male social ranking, sometimes especially among friends. There was a clique in high school that seemed to revel in the degradation of friends, and it only made them tighter.
But for the rest of us, it can seem exhilarating at first, then tiring over the long haul.
My question about the Jackass guys (also a fan of the films), is that even with their closest friends they will never have any piece of mind. They must always be on guard for violent attack or shameful embarrassment. I couldn't live like that, but maybe they've discovered a new Stockholm syndrome: they've been under siege for so long that they can't live without it.
Well, in the light of your unfavourable review I may now have to give it a miss.
Ms. Givens - Will stop by and check it out.
Straight Guy - Yeah. I don't know that I'd ever be completely at ease wondering which of my friends was going to urinate on me next. I mean...I already deal with that with my relatives.
GorillaBananas - You may like it more than me. There is a lot of poop flinging, which is right up your (species') alley.
If I would have known 20 years ago, that people would pay money to see boys doing stupid shit, I would be a thousandaire today.
