I got bupkes

Check out my latest column on the Oakton Patch here about deciding on a theme song to introduce me at my nephew's bar mitzvah next month.

a) I'm not Jewish
b) I have no idea which song to use
c) I love this because life really should be more like a musical. (Apparently, my boss does not share this sentiment because he frowned upon my singing and use of jazz hands during our webinar this morning.)

Help a sister out,
Brutalism

You could go with "Ah Deer Hu" which is actually a Passover song, something about the building of the temple. But it makes a great drinking song if you sing it right!

Well I'm no help. I'd suggest Back in Black by AC/DC, but that's probably out of the question. (?)

Clearly, something from Black Shabbos. I remember at Brandeis there were concert posters for them with the tagline "There's rock 'n roll, and then there's rock 'n bagel."

At my nephew's bar mitzvah, distant cousins were introduced with the theme from the Adams Family ("they're creepy and they're kooky... they're all together spooky...") I was appalled. They loved it. It fit.

But you shouldn't have to pick your own song. That falls to the party planners.
